SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Position Summary
The position functions as a business partner to support. The incumbent is responsible to support the accounting and internal control (including S-OX compliance) for Costa Rica general accounting on a timely and accurate manner assuring compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws & regulations.
Functions:
• General Accounting – Provide overall accounting and finance support to the facility by managing routing accounting and finance work including but not limited to general disbursements, closings, and general account analysis of all Costa Rica related expenses. This includes but is not limited to financial support in the spending analysis and budget control; Prepare monthly spending analyses for the plant; Preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end statutory financial reports in compliance with predetermined due dates.
• Balance Sheet account analysis - Preparation of account analysis of various accounts, including, but not limited to bank and cash, Payroll Accruals, Intercompany, and prepaid accounts.
• Closing - Preparing and input journal entries to general ledger such as accrued liabilities recording, cost center reclassifications and other adjustments per monthly closing schedule; prepare required management reports as requested by Supervisor
• Retention - Maintain proper & organized Balance Sheet and P&L to comply with local statutory requirements and keep the legal books for accounting purpose
Qualifications:
• Lic. Degree in Business Administration with major in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Four year minimum experience in General Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment and in Free Trade Zone companies;
• Knowledge of complete integrated accounting cycle and information systems (SAP preferred);
• Fully bilingual (English / Spanish)
Others
• Well organized, strong analytical skills, task oriented, and focus on customer service;
• Microcomputer applications proficiency (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.);
• Good communication skills
