SUPPORT ANALYST
Knowledge and Skills
• University degree, College Diploma, or equivalent relevant experience
• Oil and Gas expertise is an asset; direct end user oil and gas application support (ideally geology, geophysics, engineering disciplines)
• Technical background with proven trouble shooting skills
• Adept at delving into systems to find the true root cause for the issue at hand and be able to remedy the issue as needed
• Ability to work independently on multiple simultaneous tasks within a challenging fast paced team and customer oriented environment.
• Provide periodic after-hours support
• Experience and / or working knowledge of systems management disciplines and operations tools (automation, scheduling, monitoring, problem, change, configuration management, etc.)
• Java, MS .Net, Unix, Tibco Portal, LiveLink, Microsoft SharePoint Server, Ruby on Rails, Crystal Reports, PowerBuilder, PVR, ArcServer (GIS). Knowledge of at least one of these technologies is required.
Description
• Assume responsibility for 2nd level application support including the activities required to support, maintain, enhance, and configure applications systems
• Competence in ITIL ITSM processes (for e.g. Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, Release, and Service Request Management)
• Proactively avoid incidents by using a variety of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving operational or process problems
• Perform incident handling, service restoration, documentation, problem identification, logging and tracking, troubleshooting, resolution, and escalations as required
• Communicate support updates with stakeholders
• Liaise with Vendor on all user issues and on all upgrade problems and coordinate vendor
• Liaise with user community to understand business needs
• Work with vendors to develop changes and fixes
• Interface with vendors for technical support
• Provide a consistently high level of customer service to our business partners
• Assist in QA/UAT of new software releases
• Assist in deployment from Development/Testing to Production environment
