In Past times, when we talked about addictions the first thing that came to our minds were drugs and gambling. Today, the landscape has changed and the spectrum of addictions is broader.  One explanation for this phenomenon is that, currently, there are many things for entertainment that can cause a high level of attraction that may lead to addiction.  In addition, people are being bombarded with a lot of information that can lead to an addiction.
An example of this phenomenon is “Internet Addiction”; this seems harmless but like any other addiction it has consequences; for example, it can affect our life, job and even health.
Surfing the internet is necessary for many people because of their work or studies but it important to be able to restraint o|neself and not let it consume all our free time. Spending time with family, playing sports and hanging out with friends are activities that should be given more importance.
On the other, if the situation is out of control, seeking professional help and therapy is the wisest step to take.
